We write to express our thoughts; our experiences, our opinions, facts, or simply for creative purposes. We can write for ourselves, or for an audience, either way it’s for the purpose of putting down our words into a readable text. By writing we can set our words in stone and make it that people far and wide can gain access to it. In the past, writing was a necessary tool for communication between people who couldn’t meet face-to-face. Before telephones, writing was used to maintain peace between countries or start wars. Contrary to speaking, writing lacks tone and facial expressions which can be seen as key to clear communication and understanding to the parties involved.
